What to expect on a Phang Nga Bay sea canoe tour from Phuket

A sea canoe tour gives you two views of Phang Nga Bay: the limestone islands seen from the boat, and the caves and sheltered lagoons explored close to the water. Our Evening Glow trip continues into the evening, with dinner at sunset and a guided paddle after dark. Here is how to plan for the day.

Leave the whole day free

Evening Glow is a day-to-night trip lasting approximately 10–11 hours, including transfers. Phuket hotel pickup is generally between 10:00 and 11:15, depending on your location. Check the pickup time confirmed for your booking rather than relying on the general itinerary.

The planned schedule includes check-in at Ao Por Pier around noon and departure at 12:30. We usually return to the pier around 20:00, with hotel drop-off around 21:00–21:30. These are approximate times: tides, weather and transfer locations can change the day’s timing. Avoid booking a flight or another time-sensitive activity immediately afterwards.

Your paddler handles the guided canoe sections

A professional paddler accompanies you during the guided canoe sections. You can focus on the scenery while your paddler steers through the sea caves and lagoons. Follow the crew’s briefing carefully, particularly when entering a cave where the ceiling may be low.

The itinerary includes Panak and Hong islands, where limestone cliffs rise above the water and canoe routes lead into sheltered spaces. Access depends on the tide and conditions. The crew may adjust the order of stops or the route, so treat the published programme as a guide to the experience.

James Bond Island is part of a longer journey

The tour also visits James Bond Island, giving you time to see the rock formations from a different perspective and take photographs. It is one part of a day that combines travel on the main boat, guided canoeing and time around the islands.

Bring a camera or phone, but keep it protected from splashes and rain. Dry bags are included; ask the crew how to close yours properly and keep valuables secure when getting in and out of the canoe.

Meals and practical essentials are included

The Evening Glow package includes two Thai meals on board, with dinner around sunset, plus snacks, fruit and drinking water. Phuket hotel transfers, national park fees, guided canoeing, safety equipment and accident insurance are also included in the published package.

Tell our team about dietary requirements before booking so we can confirm what is possible for your trip. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for a day near the water, and bring sun protection, a towel and a change of clothes if you plan to swim. Keep your bag small enough to manage easily on the boat.

The night paddle depends on nature

After dark, the guided canoe trip looks for bioluminescent plankton. What you can see varies with moonlight, tides, weather and natural conditions. Some evenings bring clear points of light in the water; the effect can be much subtler on others. A bright display is never guaranteed.

Choose the trip for the whole experience: caves, lagoons, island scenery, time with the crew and an evening on the bay. Before reserving, read the current itinerary and contact us if you have questions about mobility, young children or whether a long day on the water will suit your group.
